- The Children of John Giles
John and Sarah had 6 children before Sarah's death in 1802. It looks (from the family tree) that the first three children all died as infants, or even in childbirth, with William their last child dying at the age of one month.
This is born out by John Giles' will where he leaves everything in equal shares to his married daughter Martha Golding and his son Robert Giles, with whom he is living (1851 census).
Unfortunately, John outlives his son Robert by some 3 years, so Robert's half of the estate passes to his wife and children. The will must have been drawn up before the signature date of 20th April 1853, given that Robert dies on 7th December 1852. There is no mention of him already being dead in the will. - The Will of John Giles
